Brownsville Studio 59 Reviews 1

I bought it new at Sam Ash in Clearwater, FL. for $169.00 and the reason was for the way it looks! Almost a piece of art! If you want to see one, go to www.sweagle.com. It seems that Brownsville is only a logo from Samsontech and Eagle makes most of their guitar line.

ONLY the way it looks. Almost bookmatched beautiful flame maple laminate over a mahogany body, mahogany stained maple neck, 24 fret rosewood fretboard with nice BIG abalone inlays. Oh yea... this thing is so light and balanced extremely well.

You name it. The setup is total sh*t. The neck is concave, but I can adjust that. The neck pickup is bent in at the top, but I plan on replacing all of the electronics, so they are gone anyway. It should have a pickguard so you don't beat the finish off of it over the years, but I can put 1 on it.

I feel that after a little work, the guitar will be fine, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. Time will be the judge of this thing... and I am thinking of returning this guitar. It may look pretty, but I want something that can be played seriously. I guess I could frame it and hang it on the wall as art?

This would not even be a good guitar for a beginner. It needs too much work right out of the box, and the finish is so pretty that without the pickguard, I'm sure it'll scratch up really fast.
